The Sims 3
Anybody played it yet? I'm waiting to buy my brand new computer because my sister's computer won't be able to run it so I'm very excited I will get to play it! In the meantime I've been playing Sims 2 on my sister's computer and I'm still not bored of it! There's just so much to do. I'm a Sims junkie someone throw me in rehab! :haha:
How many resources are requiered to play it?
:)
I don't know exactly but I went on this website called "Can I run it" and it scans all of your hardware and tells if you if you passed the test and my sister's PC failed miserably lol.
which is the website where i can do that test??
I've been playing it since it came out, it's a brilliant game!
Graphics wise, it's the same as The Sims 2...but the big hit on graphics this time round is the seamless neighborhood. You can literally walk, run, job, bike, drive and get a taxi next door, or as far as into town or the beach. The only things bad about the game is that everything...and I mean EVERYTHING is customizable, you can change the texture of a fridge to any texture in the library like metal, rubber, or even carpet...and then change the color of all the levels of the object!
Another great feature added feature is that when you tell your sim to do something, when it appears in the top left of the screen; you can then select how your want your sim to do that thing...2 examples:
When you tell your sim to 'Go Here...' you can then select for them to walk, run, or jog...and then if you select jog...you can tell your sim to do it without breaking a sweat, with more effort (obviously making your hygiene go down quicker, but you gain a body skill quicker)
One other great feature to note is community buildings like markets, restaurants, schools, book stores etc...are all pre-built like buildings are in Sim City...so even though everything is so customzable, you don;t have to spend days and days adding the buildings you want in community buildings. There are still some community locations you can build like parks and gyms...but the rest, including places of work (which you can see now) are pre-built...Stadiums, Theatres, Food Stores, Kitchens to learn how to cook or for Culinery careers; Spas....theres something for everyone!
I could go on for ages...but I don;t wanna ruin the smaller perks for ya...enjoy when you do get it! :D
^ sounds really amazing I am so excited thanks for sharing all of that info with us!
I will buy a new video Card
Do you think an Nvidia GForce 8400G works with this?
And also I will buy another RAM memory of 2GB
lol
i didnt think my computer could run sims 3 but according to my brother it could so i got him to get it for me. its pretty fun to play. a little slow at first. only prob is...EVERYONE wants to play it and only my computer and run it. so i'm always stuck on someone else's laptop since i'm such a pushover.
i just played it a few minutes ago. it's pretty great. lots of new stuff, a few new skills. there's so much to try out.
one main problem i have is that unlike sim2, theres no "elixir of life" to go back in aging. but there is a "disable aging" option. but that could be troublesome when you're trying to grow a child/teenager.

PC Desktop
XP (Service Pack 2)
Processor: Pentium IV 2.0 GHz / Athlon XP 2000+
Memory: 1 GB
Graphics: GeForce FX 5900 / Radeon 9500
Graphics: Ram 128 MB
Vista (Service Pack 1)
Processor: Pentium IV 2.4 GHz / Athlon XP 2400+
Memory: 1.5 GB
Graphics: GeForce FX 5900 / Radeon 9500

These are the requirements for a PC!
It isn't exactly demanding considering what you get in a pretty cheap desktop these days!
I will have:
XP SP2
2GB SDRAM
NVIDIA GForce 8400G 512 MB
Intel Pentium IV 2.67GHz
well i have a 3+ year old desktop and its super fast but i will need to upgrade for this..
i lost interest in this game in the middle of the sims 2 era..
ive read a few reviews and the one bad thing that keeps popping up about the sims 3 is the business aspect (construction etc) is less customizable than the sims 2 w/ the job expansion pack.
honestly, once i saw they were milking this franchise for all it was worth..ie how many expansion for the first game and goddamn how many for the second game? can you imagine how many there will be for the 3rd game?
i honestly think if they were going to expand the game to an entire community, they should have just revamped the online game and kept the pc game simple and summarized like the first sims game.
id rather paymonthly to play a revamped sims online than buy the sims 3 and a bajillion expansion packs.
^ Or you can just get them bootlegged online like I do usually. lol
